Kilby's writing across genres has appeared in journals such as BRICK, Conjunctions (Web Conjunctions), The Kenyon Review (KROnline), Descant, The Malahat Review, The Puritan, and BookThug's The Coming Envelope, among others.
Recognized nationally as a writer to watch, Kilby received the 2010 RBC Bronwen Wallace Award from the the Writers’ Trust of Canada for fiction. Both her poetry and creative nonfiction have been long-listed for CBC Literary Awards and her work has been selected for Best Canadian Poetry 2016, and Best Canadian Essays 2014.
Kilby holds an MFA from the University of Guelph and is a graduate of York University's Creative Writing Program. She has taught fiction workshops for the University of Guelph's Open Learning program, and been a guest artist at the University of Toronto.
Her first collection of poetry, Kids in Triage, was released by Wolsak & Wynn's Buckrider Books imprint in May 2016.
